Identifying Challenges of participatory processes in Spain from 1975 until today. A collective reflection

The next 12 to 14 April 2011 will be a new edition (and let the n ยบ 16) of the Annual Conference organized by the MASTER RESEARCH PARTICIPATORY LOCAL DEVELOPMENT, Course at the UCM that is taught in the School of Politics and Sociology . This time, we have proposed the following objectives:

  • identify progress, achievements, lessons learned and difficulties of the major milestones in the field of citizen participation (demonstrations, movements social networks ...) in Spain during the 35 years that we have democracy, with an analytical and reflective.
  • Construct and analyze together the main issues for the development of participatory processes at present.
  • to reflect on the new paths that open in participatory processes, social movements and citizen participation in Spain, with participatory methodologies and new tools of communication.

This requires, from our point of view, a change in the methodologies that have traditionally been organized, that is, there will be tables of experts and workshops separately, but through a series of participatory tools and techniques boosted by a team of the Masters program will promote the collective thinking of all the people in attendance, seeking to do active participation since the organization of conference, the largest number of networks of all citizens and social movements, both local and regional or state, including universities, social cooperatives, etc. And it is through the dynamics when giving testimony will be different thematic and experiential experts.

Every day we use a different tool, being the TIMELINE of the first day, the flowchart of the second day, and the EASW the third day.

The afternoon sessions will focus on other forms of communication and collective reflection, especially cineforum, teatroforum, radio, television, internet.
